About Us
In 2020, dedicated Asian American civil servants created AAFEN to address warrantless national security concerns largely based on their family backgrounds.
AAFEN is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization. Through advocacy and awareness campaigns, AAFEN has facilitated policy modifications, especially regarding security clearances and insider threat programs, that aim to create a more secure yet just federal workforce, one that values diversity as a crucial national resource.
AAFEN’s members reflect a distinguished cohort of public servants, including current and former federal government personnel, intelligence professionals, military service members, contractors, grant recipients, and committed stakeholders. AAFEN members have honorably served in the U.S. armed forces, intelligence agencies, diplomatic missions, and research institutes.
We Envision a Government...
That represents the broad diversity of the American people.
Where all citizens are presumed loyal, despite recent immigration history.
That does not infringe on civil rights in the name of national security.
Our Values
Our mission seeks to strengthen our nation and its institutions. We categorically reject any foreign nation's attempts to exploit our concerns to advance their propaganda.
We uphold the fundamental American principles of fairness, equality, and due process which is afforded to all Americans by the U.S. Constitution.
We celebrate the diverse fabric of our nation, recognizing that immigrants are a vital asset. Asian Americans, in particular, bring indispensable language skills and cultural insights that bolster our global diplomatic, military, and economic posture. U.S. national interest is best advanced by integrating Asian Americans as essential partners, not as perceived threats, particularly during tense Indo-Pacific geopolitical relations.
